Dash

Summary: Increases movement speed for 15 seconds.

Notes:

Dash and Dive are practically the same skill: Dash is available to certain land-based pet families while Dive is available to most of the flying pet families.

Both Dash and Dive have the same effect: they increase pursuit speed, or how fast the pet runs to its target. You can learn more about pursuit speed and the other talents and skills that affect it in the Pursuit Speed article.

Although closing with the target quickly is primarily a convenience in solo questing, many hunters find that hunting with a pet who doesn't know one of these speed-enhancing skills is so embarrassingly slow that it's become a requirement for them.

Note that although you cannot teach any single pet both Dash and Dive, you can teach boars both Dash and Charge. This is generally not helpful, however, since both Dash and Charge share a cooldown timer and so can't be used together very well.
